love thee everyday,

Like sunset in a winter day,

A love no one can deny,

And when I think I can't reach you I would cry,

Yes pizza, you and I complete each other,

You are the best invention ever

The best person in the world is your author,

Who made a better life to every other,

You have the best taste in the world,

you're the greatest secret that has been told,

And everyone would agree,

You're everyone's cup of tea,

To conclude I will simply say,

You made me a better day

The Attack

Book track Version

Ships were coming, attacking us everywhere. These huge metallic animals were shooting lasers and fire, destroying all our land, houses and life. No one understood, I didn’t understand. Yesterday it was heaven today its hell. I thought this day would have never come, but as my English teacher said: “We are full of resources, gold, precious stones, and one day, I hope it’s in the far away future, someone will come and steal everything from us, as I always say no one’s happy with what they have!” He was right, his prediction happened, although I wish it never would.

We had no hope, and they had realized it, in fact their ships were landing everywhere. The majority of us, citizens of Jazar, were running and trying to destroy this big metal killer, but nothing worked. Then I thought, we would all be slaves and would be used by those wicked and horrible creatures, I didn’t know how they looked like, but when I saw them climbing down the space ships, I realized they were very weird, they wore some kind of invisible, but opaque suit and had a weird colored skin, some kind of light pink, and had strings sticking out of their heads, some longer and some shorter. They also had five fingers, not six… From all those traits I realized what they were, I had studied them in science, and they were called… humods… hucolds…. HUMANS! That’s what they were the humans, the meanest of all the galaxy.

At one point we were all running away, the humans were following us, for no reason. What had we ever done to them? One of my worst nightmares had just became reality, they were capturing people, and in the distance I could hear:

“ Shela!” “Shela!” my mother was calling me in a desperate tone.

“Mom! Mom where are you?” I was flooding in tears and in the opacity I could see them my father, my mother and my smaller brother in a cage being carried in one of those infernal metal beasts. I tried to run and save them, but at that point I didn’t know what to do, I tried to think, but my mind was blocked. I could see Jazarchians dyeing everywhere, being trapped, crying desperately watching their families being taken away. Strangely at one point, all the humans stopped, went back in their evil ships and left. I didn’t understand, but I knew they would come back…

That night I tried to sleep, I was hiding in a house, the only one left, but I couldn’t, the thought of what those monsters could do to my family was terrible, but the worst of all was that I didn’t even know if I would ever see them again. When I woke up the next morning, I was tired and I felt pain everywhere. I also felt weird as if someone was watching me...

I could her someone breathing, I slowly turned around. There was silence everywhere, then I saw him, I couldn’t explain my emotions… it was my little loving 7 years old brother Asgr. He was crying hysterically, and then he said sobbing:

“Shela! Shela! You’re here! I’m so happy to see you! Mommy and Daddy… Mommy and Daddy they tried to save me! They gave me the syrup, I can’t remember the name, there was only for one. It made me smaller and smaller, until everyone were giants, they made me be free, free! But they are in that thing with those things! I’m so scared!”

“Don’t worry little soldier I’m here with you know, but who brought you here? How did you come here?”

“ One of those things found me and brought me here, I think she’s the only good one”

From that day we started plotting a revolution, my brother, the human Christina and I joined other survivors, every day we fight for our lives. We would rebel against the humans, invade their ships and save our people. Every day the humans would arrive and destroy more and more our planet. It was full of nature, full of life and every afternoon I could hear children playing and laughing, we were all happy, now the land is desert without colors and life, and now the only thing I can hear is the wind blowing.

Finally we would attack and that day was coming closer and closer. It was a Monday morning, we were getting ready, I wore black clothes. Our commandant Zhir gave us three guns each, one to place in our shoe, one in a hole in our pants next to the belt and one to carry through all the mission. We were about thirty, my bother stayed in our secret area with the other kids and some of the women. Our secret area was in one of the various deserts. We had a trapdoor to enter that was covered by projected rock. Inside the secret area, we had 40 rooms to sleep in, luckily we had more, and so more refugees that survived could come, a kitchen, a reunion area and a greenhouse we created for the animals to live in and to plant crops. We had some holes on the surface that, were covered by more projected rocks that would let light come through. This area, also called The Hole, was created in the III World War, we were thought about it I school and teachers told us how it helped us win the war and that no one knew its location. Luckily Zhir’s ancestors created it, so he knew where it was, and he also found us and saved us from dying suffocated by  dust and from all the diseases all the dead bodies provoked, but mostly important, from those aliens.

When we went out, it was like a desert, dull of dust, destroyed grey buildings, all the vivid nature, flowers and animals we had became extinct except the few ones we could save. There was a prevailing smell of deciding bodies and blood, all the freshness and the cent of flowers was vanished and the only smell left was smell of emptiness and death. We climbed a near building that was actually one of the only few left. It was very tall white building, that was now damaged, in fact there were only few stares and were really unstable. There were Brocken windows everywhere and I could see desks with broken computers on them. The floor was covered with personal broken objects, pictures, little statues and work material, that were all burned and ashes were still flying in the air since the day it all started.

When we finally reached the highest point in the building, we could see the top of the spaceship. Zhir threw a rope that attached to the building and one of the edges of the ship. We all, one by one placed our biggest guns over the rope and held it on both sides and then we threw ourselves in the oblivion, until we touched metal, which guaranteed the arrival to our destination. In the meantime Christina was distracting the majority of the guards. Her plan was to trick them by telling them she got lost and when they were going to come back she would kill them all and say that Jazarchians did it, so every day they could rescue more people while the humans were searching for them.

When almost all the guards were following her, we entered. All the technology was high-tech and there were even tele-transporting machines, also we had some, but they were not very common because they were experimental. The inside was monotonous all white and black with very bright lights, that as you looked at them, they made you blind for a few minutes.

There was a smell of hospital, plastic and new everywhere, it was horrible. At a certain point we could hear people screaming from a room. A corridor was leading to it, the light was opaque there, like if they were hiding something, and at the end of it, there stood the metal door, with only a ten centimeter window to see inside.the room was all white with a metallic table in the middle and a wall full of knives and needles. Then we could see a Jazarchian wearing a short light blue dress similar to the one you use in hospitals when your sick,  being dragged to the table . At that point we noticed the door was looked, but we had to do something fast, I placed a Zolah, a technological instrument that opens doors automatically without needing a key, on the doors lock. As it opened we ran humbling inside, we attacked all the humans, luckily Zhir had given us a gun with the silencer so no other human could hear us. When I saw the face of the Jazarchian I could recognize him, he was my neighbor Lazir.

When all the humans were dead, Lazir had a relieved, but tired face.

" Thank you so much, you saved my life" Lazir said with a tired voice.

"Don't worry, are you fine?" Shela said with a great smile on her face.

"Ok, you will talk later, now we need to find the others" Zhir firmly added.

"Okay, the rest are in the room at the end of the next corridor it has 59 on it" Lazir stayed in the room with one of us, as the rest went past the corridor.

As we saw the door we entered and could see many cages, but the problem was they were empty. We didn't understand, and as we tried to figure out what had happened, I noticed I could hear a whisper, that was coming from one of the cages. Then I noticed a shadow coming rom the same area then we all started shoot at the cages and noticed that as it reached its border the bullet broke in thousands of pieces and a spark appeared. We couldn't believe what we saw, and decided to use Zolah, to see if it worked. Luckily before of placing it we saw a box next to all the cages, so we opened it and saw a " OPEN" bottom on it we simply pressed it and instantly we actually saw Jazarchians and even other people/aliens! (Those humans are really stupid!) We went in groups through the corridors and as we went out from the ship we could see Christina entering it, she made it!

Thanks to this operation we could find many of our friends and family, and lukily I found mine. Since that day we did this operation a few times and we are regaining our land and the humans are coming less and less. Every time we get out of a ship with our goal accomplished we throw bombs at the ships, so they can’t contact anyone. Finally the humans understand… Jazar is ours and no one else’s!

Soundtrack of your Life

Blues

Blues is a very complex, in every aspect. It may seem easy to understand,

although behind its repetition similes and sometimes hard words, there is a

deeper meaning behind it. Blues usually has a "blue" mood, so a sad one. It

usually talks about leaving. All tho factors make this kind of genre at first easy

to understand, but as you analyze it, deep profound and complex.Personally i realy like Blues because as i explained before it's unique and non like any other music genre.

I believe that, for authors, to transform source material into specific work is realy a complex job which needs a lot of work on it and time. I think they also have to have a very wide immagination because they need to connect ideas and use them. I also think, that firstly authors have to search for ideas and choose one to amplify. Then he or she should use the original piece and analyze it colosely. After, the author has to use the original sources idea to guide his or her new work.

In class, our teacher showed us a poem named ¨The Lottery¨ which talks about a lottery, although the final prize is getting beaten up with rocks and an episode of ¨the Simpsons¨ that talked about a day named Whacking Day, in which you beat up snakes. We analyzed both and realized that the connection between the two was that they had the same theme: sometimes we are so attached to tradition, that we follow them blindly. In fact the idea of this particular Simpson episode was taken from the Lottery's theme.

How do authors draw from and transform           source material in specific work?

New Media Short Video

Writing an essay about new media and then putting this into a new technological format is a complex task. Not only did I have to write an essay and then pass it to a New Media Format, which could mean a video, podcast or many others, but I also had to post it on the net, where everyone could see it at any time. In my essay i wrote what I thought about new media. To make sure my work was coherent, I first of all researched the articles I wanted to use, and then analyzed them. I then put them into paragraphs. I checked my spelling and structure errors, then I amplified the essay and changed the format and any esthetical issue it might have and then I rechecked it. When I finished all this long process, I decided to transform this into a short video. To do this I used an new version of iMovie, which benefitted my topic because it was a newer version, I opened this app on my computer, and started downloading pictures and images according to this, to make it more entertaining I decided to record myself reading parts of my essay, instead of writing them down on a slide, and then I had to blend the two.  After, I had to " speed" the audio because I was overpassing the timeframe. I then added a title, transition and the work-cited image.

Furthermore these, had similarities and differences. The similarities were that they both had the same topic, which meant that I also used the same sources. In fact what I said and wrote were almost the same, only that for the video I had to do it more engaging, so to make people want to enjoy watching it. Besides this, the differences were, the way it was presented, so by using a short video to transmit my message to people, and that by using: images, videos, audio and music, it was more striking and intriguing.

Additionally, I had many difficulties and pleasures doing both. For the essay, the obstacles I had to overcome, were that I had to continuously check for my spelling and grammatical structures. Another of these was that I had to adjust my text and had to change all the formats, which was tricky because I had to do in Pages, since I didn’t do it in my computer. On the other hand the pleasures I had writing this were, I have to admit, I didn't have many, but even so, the most satisfying was my final product because it demonstrated all the hard work and time I dedicated to it. In addition to this, for my New Media Short Video, I, instead, had difficulties including the images and videos in the movies, but then, also adjusting it with the audio, so they could match. Besides this, the pleasures of doing this shot video were, that I had a lot of fun creating it, and I personally was entertained while editing and adjusting it!

Normally people start off their essay by saying " Hello, my name is ... I'm ... Years old...” so that what I'm going to do. My name is Camilla Alessi I'm 14 years old, almost 15, and I'm Italian! I live in Colombia for my fathers work and my life is pretty normal. I go to school in the Asociación Colegio Granadino and I have various hobbies: football, Spanish extra, shopping, going to the cinema... And I almost forgot, I have a cat named Alice, and a dog named Niño, and I love them so much I could hug them to death.

For this project I choose three very important events in my life and attributed a song to them. These three events I choose are: my mothers death, when I left Italy and when my father gave me my cat and dog. To represent these events I choose the following songs: Let her go by Passenger, Count on me by Bruno Mars and best day of my life by American Authors. I choose these events because they had a huge impact in me and my life and I thought the songs I chose perfectly attributed to them.

The first song I chose is Let her go by Passenger. I chose this song because it reminds me of the most important and difficult moment in my life, my mother’s death. As you can infer, I chose this event because it was really hard for me and it still is. I choose this song to relate to this event because when I first listened to it, it reminded me about my mother and how special she was and will always be to me. The lyrics of the song that make me think the most about her are "only know you love her when you let her go" because it reminds me how a big part of my life is missing and it will never come back and of all the moments that we had to share will never happen.

The second song I picked is Best day of my life by American Authors. I relate this song with the event in which I received my cat and dog. My dad gave me, and naturally my sister, our beloved cat Alice, after my mother’s death. We were really happy because it cheered us up and helped us through this difficult moment. When we first saw her (we got her from my aunts farm), we knew she was going to be ours. Instead my dog Niño, wasn’t my first dog, I actually had a dog before him, but when she died I was devastated and my sister and father gave me Niño, and made me a huge surprise! I was really thrilled couldn’t believe my eyes. My dog and cat are really amazing and are always there for you no matter what you do and say they are always on your lap and always make me feel better, and since the first time I saw them I can remember my heart has skipping around in my chest.

The songs i choose are:

Let her go by Passenger

Count on me by Bruno Mars

Best day of my life by American Authors
